Auckland Island is the main island of the Auckland Islands, and has an approximate land area of 510 kmē, and is 42 km long. It is notable for its steep cliffs and rugged terrain. An uninhabited archipelago in the south Pacific Ocean belonging to New Zealand, the Auckland Islands are one of the bleakest places on Earth.
